Dr. Julia Matl


Dipl.-Phys. Dr. Julia Matl (formerly Schmitz) finished her studies in physics (diploma) and biophysics (diploma) at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU) in 2005. In collaboration with the Weizmann Institute in Israel and the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, she researched in the field of integrin-mediated cell adhesion investigated by Atomic Force Microscopy as a Ph.D student at the Institute of Applied Physics, LMU and as a stipendiary of the International Doctorate Program NanoBiotechnology at the Center of NanoScience. After receiving her doctorate from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in 2008 (title of thesis: Cell Adhesion mediated by the integrin VLA-4), she started at the IP firm Ter Meer, Steinmeister & Partner.

German and European Patent Attorney since 2012.

Experience in international litigation, patent prosecution, opposition proceedings, patent portfolio strategies, utility models, trademarks and designs.
